Free training in tailoring
We give free training in tailoring and in fashion design. In our programs of free training, we provide the opportunity to apply for those who are interested, and we give them the day to start class. We do have challenges because we don’t have much space and we have few sewing machines. So, we try to specify students in groups. Some come in the morning, others in the afternoon. We don’t have any support, After sewing some clothes and making designs, people around us buy them, which helps us buy other materials for practice and pay the rent.We beg sponsorship to provide tools for training.
Our tailored program lasts one year. A six-month tailoring course followed by a six-month fashion design course.
In the 6-month tailoring course, you will gain comprehensive knowledge and hands-on experience in the following areas:
- Crafting trousers
- Stitching blouses
- Tailoring dresses
- Crafting shirts
- Sewing shorts
- Creating different styles of skirts
- Mastering tricot techniques.
In fashion design, students are taught a variety of concepts and skills, including:
- The design of different types of bags, such as computer bags, travel bags, and backpacks.
- Students learn about designing caps,
- Developing their own design ideas,
- Creating various styles of dresses, skirts, and trousers
At BlackNtaw, we believe fashion design unites and empowers. In Dzaleka refugee camp, we create apparel to connect people, honor their stories, and build a sense of community.
